Autumn Racing Carnival

The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival runs from late February through April and showcases the best of New South Wales racing. Randwick and Rosehill host the feature meetings, with the Golden Slipper and The Everest among the most watched races in the country. The carnival attracts top sprinters, milers, and stayers and is a key part of the Australian racing calendar.

The Golden Slipper at Rosehill is the world's richest two-year-old race and is run in March. It crowns the best juvenile of the season and is a highlight of the autumn program. The Doncaster Mile at Randwick is one of the toughest mile races in the world, and the Sydney Cup and other Group 1s round out the carnival. The Everest, run at Randwick in October, is Australia's richest race and sits at the end of the spring build-up in Sydney but is often discussed alongside the autumn carnival's sprint program.
