Trained by Joseph O'Brien
Kizlyar is the last horse into the 2026 Melbourne Cup: he only gained a start when stablemate Defiantly failed a vet examination on the morning of the barrier draw.
Joseph O'Brien's late call-up carries 53.5kg with Beau Mertens riding, but barrier 20 leaves him outside the modern winning line. At $34 he's one of the bigger-priced O'Brien runners.
