For Australian racing fans, Hong Kong is the natural second course. The Sha Tin card jumps as the Australian country meetings wind down, and the standard is elite — Hong Kong's 1400-strong horse population is small but ferociously competitive, trained by legends like John Size and Tony Cruz and ridden by world-class jockeys. Turnover on a single Sha Tin Saturday dwarfs most Australian metro cards.
The betting menu will be familiar to any Australian punter: win and place, quinellas, trifectas, quartets and the tierce, all through the HKJC pools. The form lines even cross over — Australian horses contest the Hong Kong International Races each December, and Hong Kong form frequently shows up in Sydney and Melbourne fields. Follow both scenes on our racing today, results and odds pages.
