Immortal champion
Trained by Anthony & Sam Freedman
Without A Fight won the 2023 Melbourne Cup at $9, giving the Freedman family β Anthony and Sam β a famous victory 30 years after their father's first Cup winner.
Ridden by Mark Zahra, who thus won consecutive Cups on different horses (Gold Trip in 2022), the Irish-bred stayer won by 2.25 lengths β one of the most decisive Cup margins of the modern era.
