Melton Race 1 — Trots Country Series

Understanding the dividends

Win dividends shown are for $1 units on the official declared pools; place dividends apply to the first three placegetters (or four in fields of eight or more, depending on the state and pool). Margins between runners — a neck, a head, half a length — are the official margins recorded by stewards and are a better guide to a horse's true performance than the bare placing. A runner beaten a nose in a faster overall time often goes forward next start.
