The Coonamble track is a fair, galloping country circuit where on-pace runners often make their own luck, and the cup has a history of launching horses toward bigger spring targets. For punters the meeting is a form goldmine: many runners are campaigned through the same cluster of tracks (Warren, Gilgandra, Dubbo), so recent course-and-distance form is usually on display.
Full Coonamble track guideCoonamble Cup Day is held each October, in the 2026 calendar it falls in mid-October. Check the Coonamble race card on Race.com.au for the confirmed date, fields and odds once acceptances are declared.
Coonamble racecourse is in Coonamble, north-west NSW, on the Castlereagh River between Walgett and Dubbo, about 160km north of Dubbo and 570km northwest of Sydney.
Form from the neighbouring bush tracks (Warren, Gilgandra, Dubbo) transfers directly, so favour horses proven at similar country circuits. On-pace horses often carry an advantage, and track condition on cup day, which can chop up after spring rain, rewards wet-track form.
