About Inverell
Inverell Race Club, on the Macintyre River in the New England district's gemstone country, stages one of the region's favourite country meetings each winter. The Inverell program draws horses from across the Tablelands and across the Queensland border, where the Goondiwindi and Warwick stables regularly make the trip south for the genuine winter racing.
Racing at Inverell is conditioned by the seasons: winter meetings can be run on rain-affected ground, and the local horses handle it best. The cross-border flavour gives the form an extra dimension β Queensland form from Toowoomba and the Border Rivers meets NSW Tablelands form head-on, and the benchmark ratings do the translating.
