About Melton

Melton Entertainment Park, 40 minutes west of Melbourne, is the home of Victorian harness racing. Opened in 2009, the modern 1006-metre red-granite circuit replaced the old metropolitan trotting venues and now hosts every major Victorian harness event, including the Hunter Cup and the Victoria Cup.

Night meetings at Melton — 'Friday Night Trots' in particular — are among the best-attended harness fixtures in the Southern Hemisphere. The wide, banked circuit is fair to all styles, though front-runners who control the tempo from the mobile start are always hard to catch.
